WPFFA is involved with and creates loads of events for its members.
We have two general calendars (one for Youth and one for Seniors) with the association, national and international events – this is updated throughout the year.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, we have not been able to host the Youth Nationals. This has now been moved to 2021 and we will be the proud hosts of the SAFFA Youth Nationals in Ceres; Western Cape during the October school holidays. If you’d like to get involved or would like to sponsor us, feel free to get in touch.
On 11 October 2020, Duggie Wessels – the WPFFA Disability Coordinator, organised a Disability Fly Fishing Event at Le Ferme. It was a great turnout, as he only had two to three weeks to organise this event. There were 15 disabled anglers (14 in wheelchairs and one with a sight disability), 11 assistants and 21 spectators. Below are some photos of the event.
As we are all currently stuck at home – our top anglers have come together to create some fantastic online webinars sharing their top tips. Below are the invitations to each of these sessions. You can watch these by joining our following the links below and joining our Facebook page.
This is the story of how Duggie and Mark (two paraplegics) realized their dream of fishing a remote section of the Orange river. Thank you to Coenraad Coetzer for creating and sharing this wonderful video.
